Celebrating 40 years
2012 is our 40th Anniversary!
That's right we have been associated with the
Parkinson Recreation Center since 1972.
Kelowna Tsuruoka Karate Club
Sensei Lars welcomes you to our Dojo.
Our club invites you to join our active group of members who enjoy practicing the art of Karate.
We offer classes for kids, parent/child and adult oriented both beginner and advanced.
Teachings are by respected black belt instructors.

Our club is the oldest established traditional Karate club in Kelowna as well as being one of the original clubs in British Columbia. It was founded in 1971 by Mr. Warren Maurer who holds the rank of 4th Degree Black Belt. We have been part of the Parkinson Recreation Centre since it's opening in 1971. We are also members of the National Karate Association, the sport governing body for Karate in which Mr Tsuruoka is a Technical Advisor and past president. In addition we are members of the provincial governing body Karate BC.
There are currently 10 Black Belts training or teaching at our Dojo (training hall). All senior Black Belt instructors possess National Karate Association Black Belt Certificates and N.C.C.P. (National Coaching Certificates Program) Level 2 (Theory) Certificates so you can be assured that you are being taught by instructors who are fully qualified and registered to teach in Canada.
